Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort featuring the Gran Destino Tower is themed in a blend of Mexican, Spanish, and Southwest American cultures.
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is a beautiful resort. The Spanish American decor is bright and colorful around the resort. There are 10 different restaurant and lounges on the sprawling property around Lago Dorado. There are over 2400 rooms at the resort. This is a moderate price level of Disney’s Resorts.
The lobby area in the Gran Destino Tower is beautiful. Relax and grab a drink at the Barcelona Lounge while you wait for your room to get ready. There are plenty of places to sit, or take a walk around Lago Dorado and explore the property.
Resort Map:
The resort is massive and with over 2400 rooms, this moderate resort will have plenty of space for you to stay at. We have never not seen availability here at this resort.
Location:
The resort is located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom resort area. When entering the resort you are greeted by the beautiful Gran Destino Tower.
Resort Rooms:
The resort features standard style hotel rooms across the property. The standard rooms feature a King Bed, or 2 Queen Beds in the room. There are also Casita Suites and Executive Suites available around Lago Dorado.
Gran Destino Tower features the same style standard rooms with a King Bed or 2 Queen Beds. There is also Club Level suites available Standard Rooms, Deluxe Studio, a One Bedroom Suite and the Presidential Suite.
The elevators in the Gran Destino Tower are specific to the area that you are staying in in the tower. They may be the nicest elevators we have ever been on!
The Tower goes to Floor 16 where you can visit two different rooftop restaurants the Toledo and Dahlia Lounge.
Lago Dorado is the beautiful lake that Coronado Springs Resort surrounds. The casitas and outer resort rooms are all around the lake.
The Standard King Room:
The standard room is your typical hotel room. Decorated in a Southwest theme the room is bright and airy. The hardwood floors are a really nice addition that just a typical hotel room that has carpet.

Check In and Hospitality House:
This is one of the biggest check-in areas at Disney. There are plenty of Cast Members to help you and plenty of places to sit and relax until your room is ready.
The waiting area has plenty of spaces to work or relax. There are also seats and tables with outlets so you can charge your devices.
Transportation:
This resort only features on mode of transportation to the parks. The Buses run frequently and will take you to whichever park you need to go to!

The Barcelona Lounge is located right below the staircase to the check-in area.
El Mercado de Coronado is the cafeteria style quick service restaurant at Coronado Springs Resort.
Three Bridges Bar and Grill is the dinner restaurant located in the middle of Lago Dorado. There are 3 different bridges across the resort that you can get to this restaurant from.
The Rix Sports Bar and Grill is located right next to El Mercado de Coronado. It is Coronado Springs sports bar!
Maya Grill is the dinner only Mexican dining hall at Coronado Springs Resort. It features classic Mexican, Spanish, and Southwestern dishes everyone will love.
Shopping:
Panchito’s is Coronado Springs Resort store. It is named after the famous Callaberro Panchito. You can get Disney Parks merchandise, resort merchandise and supplies and food you need for your trip.
The Coronado Springs merchandise at the resort is available here. You can also get merchandise from the different restaurants here too.
Resort Activities:
There are a variety of activities you can take part in at the resort. From Movies under the Stars to the fitness center and some of the signature experiences like Sangria University are among some of the things you can do here during your stay.
The Iguana Arcade is located neat the main pool and playground area, The Dig Site. It features state of the art arcade games to enjoy and play.
The playground at The Dig Site is styled after an archaeological dig. Kids can play and climb all over the place.
The Playground has climbing areas and some slides. There are also some outside games nearby as well like Shuffleboard.
The Dig Site:
The Dig Site is the large and main pool area at Coronado Springs. It features the playground, arcade, spa and fitness center.
The fitness center is open for all guests. Get a workout in while on vacation!
There are lounge chairs and umbrellas around Lago Dorado for you to relax in and enjoy the sites and sounds of the resort.
Resort Pools:
The Main Pool, Lost City of Cibola pool, is at the Dig Site. It features a beautiful Maya Ruin structure at the main feature of the pool. The steps to the ruins also feature a waterfall that flows into the pool. There is also a 123 foot waterslide. The Dig Site also has the largest hot tub on Disney property here.
The pool is open almost every day from 10am to 10pm. Lifeguards are on duty and the resort pool activities take place here as well.
There are three leisure pools at Coronado Springs resort as well. No lifeguards are on duty at these pools and the pool activities are not at these locations.
Other Amenities:
The Convention Center makes Coronado Springs resort a prime location for business meetings and other events.
The convention center is 220,000 square feet with 2 ballrooms, an exhibit hall and 45 breakout rooms. The hall can host around 6500 people for any given event.
There is also a business center where you can go and quietly get some work done if you need. You can fax, print and ship from the Business Center as well.
