Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a resort themed after our National Forests and the American Northwest. Copper Creek and Boulder Ridge are the two main sections of this resort along with amazing cabins! Enjoy some great dining at Whispering Canyon and a day at the Copper Creek Springs Pool with a geyser going off in the background.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort Orlando:
Wilderness Lodge has two main resort buildings in the Boulder Ridge Villas and Copper Creek Villas. Both resorts feature Deluxe Studios, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom villas. 3-bedroom Grand Villas are only available on the Copper Creek side. There are also Cabins you can stay in.
All guests share all the amenities like the pools, fitness club and other fun things.
This is considered a Disney Deluxe Resort.

Resort Area: It is located in the Magic Kingdom area.
Resort Map:
The resort is very large with the Cabins being the furthest away from all the amenities. There are running trails through the forest and around the waterways.
Can I Stay at Wilderness Lodge Even If I’m Not DVC?
Yes! Anyone can book a room at Wilderness Lodge Resort. Availability is limited for this Deluxe resort, but you do not have to be a DVC member to book a room here.
Resort Rooms:
Being a DVC resort this resort has studio rooms all the way to 3-bedroom villas and log cabins! There are a great variety of rooms for any size family and group!
Standard Room –
2 queen beds or 1 king bed.
Choose from a variety of views such as firework view, courtyard view, nature view and standard view.
Deluxe Room Club Level Access –
You can also get a standard room on club level. Disney Club Level is a great perk at some resorts. It has an exclusive lounge with snacks and drinks, and other extra amenities.
2 Queen Beds and 1 Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa.
Sleeps up to 6 Adults.
Includes a beverage cooler, coffee and tea station, patio or balcony and Personalized Guest Services. Plus, enjoy access to the Old Faithful Club.
Deluxe Studio at Boulder Ridge Villas –
Sleeps up to 5 Adults.
Comfortable accommodations: includes a kitchenette with small fridge and microwave, and a porch or balcony.
Deluxe Studio at Copper Creek Villas –
1 Queen Bed and 1 Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa.
Sleeps up to 4 Adults.
Comfortable accommodations: includes a kitchenette with small fridge and microwave, and a porch or balcony.
Deluxe Studio with Walk-in Shower also available.
1 Bedroom Villa at Boulder Ridge Villas –
1 King Bed and 1 Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa.
Sleeps up to 4 Adults.
Great for families and includes a full kitchen, living and dining areas, washer and dryer, and a porch or balcony.
2 Bedroom Villa at Boulder Ridge Villas –
Great for families and includes 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen, living and dining areas, washer and dryer, and a porch or balcony.
1 Bedroom Villa at Copper Creek Villas –
Great for families and includes 1 full bathroom with 2 sink areas, full kitchen, living and dining areas, washer and dryer, and a porch or balcony.
2 Bedroom Villa at Copper Creek Villas –
Great for families and includes 2 full bathrooms (each with 2 sink areas), full kitchen, living and dining areas, washer and dryer, and a porch or balcony.
3 Bedroom Grand Villa at Copper Creek Villas-
Great for large families and includes 3 full bathrooms, full kitchen, living area, formal dining area, washer and dryer, and a porch or balcony.
Cabin at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge –
1 King Bed and 1 Queen Bed and 1 Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa and 1 Single Pull-Down Bed and 1 Twin-Size Sleeper Chair.
Sleeps up to 8 Adults.
Great for families and includes 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen, living and dining areas, washer and dryer, and a private porch with a hot tub.
Check In:
Check-in is typically at 4pm for all Disney Resorts. Early check-in is available and can be requested but it is not always guaranteed. Check-out time is 11am and extended checkout times are sometimes available as well.
When checking in to the resort be aware that due to time of year and busyness may delay the 4pm check-in time.
Transportation:
The Wilderness Lodge offers 2 main modes of transportation. You can take a bus to any of the parks, water parks or Disney Springs. They have a few electronic boards that will show you the times of when the next bus will arrive for each destination.
The Wilderness Lodge also offers a ferry boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom. Guests that are in wheelchairs and other mobility devices can use the ferry boats as well.
Dining:
There are plenty of amazing dining options at Wilderness Lodge. From great cast member experiences at Whispering Canyon to meeting Snow White and her friends at Storry Book Dining you can find some great options here.
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White –
Step inside the enchanted forest at this Character dinning inspired from the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs film.
Artist Point offers a feast fit for royalty. Open for dinner from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and has a prefixed menu.
Whispering Canyon Cafe –
Bring your appetite and enjoy all you care to enjoy skillets. This fun themed restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Make sure to ask for ketchup while you are there.
Quick Service:
There are a few quick service and lounge eating options as well. They are perfect for grabbing a quick bite to eat or a quick drink on your way to and from the parks.

Shopping:
The Mercantile is Wilderness Lodge’s shop. In it you can get Disney Park merchandise, DVC merchandise and Wilderness Lodge specific merchandise. You can also get supplies for the trip and other fun souvenirs.
Some of the Wilderness Lodge specific merchandise are some of our favorite resort souvenirs in the park. We own quite a few of these items. It is a little-known secret that Wilderness Lodge is one of our favorite resorts, so we definitely need all the merchandise.
You can also get much needed supplies for your trip and room. From food, drinks, and even alcohol the Mercantile has all you need!
Resort Activities:
Wilderness Lodge has a lot of fun activities to take part in besides just swimming at the awesome pools! Near the Copper Creek Springs Pool is the resort activities center where you can take part in a variety of crafts and activities. You can tie dye shirts here, which was a ton of fun!
The Buttons and Bells arcade is a great play to spend some time. With a lot of video games and some skill games the kids will love coming here.
Wilderness Lodge’s Geyser:
The Fire Rock Geyser is the highlight of Wilderness Lodge. It spouts every hour on the hour 120 feet in the air. This is perfect with the theming of the American Northwest and National Parks.
More amenities and activities at Wilderness Lodge:
You can rent boats and bikes to ride at the Teton Boat and Bike. When we visited the rentals were closed, but you could still book a cruise or a fishing excursion.
Other recreational activities like campfires, crafts, and the art tour are available too. The campfire is one of our favorite activities to do in the evening.
Fishing at Wilderness Lodge is also a ton of fun. You can rent a boat and go fishing or fish from a specific dock. Rentals are available for the gear to go fishing.
The fireworks cruise is a great way to view Magic Kingdom’s Nighttime Firework Show. Rent a boat and go out on Bay Lake and enjoy the show.
The Wilderness Lodge Scavenger Hunt is another fun hidden secret at Wilderness Lodge. Search the Lodge and Boulder Ridge for hidden Mickey’s and earn a pin!
Resort Pools:
Wilderness Lodge has two main pools. The Copper Creek Springs Pool and the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool. The Boulder Ridge pool is the quiet pool with no lifeguard on duty. Both can be used by any resort guest.
Copper Creek Springs Pool:
The main pool at Wilderness Lodge features a 67-foot water slide, surrounded by nature and the “creek” running into the pool. The pool is heated and open year round weather permitting.
Near the Copper Creek Pool is the kids Splash Pad and Play area. There are also 2 jacuzzies. One is a cold jacuzzi and the other one is the hot tub.
The spa jacuzzies have some different rules that are posted nearby.
The kids Splash Pad and play area is fun for kids and young ones. There are slides and a big bucket that fills and dumps on everyone for a fun time.
Boulder Ridge Cove Pool:
The Boulder Ridge Cove Pool is the quiet pool at Wilderness Lodge. It is a zero-depth entry pool and also features covered lounging areas that are free to use.
The cabanas or covered lounging areas are a first come first serve location and free of charge.
The Boulder Ridge Cove Pool has no lifeguard on duty, so be aware of that before going. There are life jackets available for kids to use if needed.
The covered lounging areas are nice and cozy for a perfect day at the pool.
Other Amenities:
The Wilderness Lodge has a running trail that is half a mile long. It is a really scenic run through the forest.
There is also a basketball court that is right next to grills that are available for anyone to use.
Sturdy Branches Health Club:
The health club is a spa that is available for the guests to use. Full salon services are available from hair services and nail services.
The fitness club is open for all guests as well. In it you can find a variety of exercise equipment to get a workout in while on vacation.
There are also laundry available to the guests to use. The small laundry mat has washers and dryers guests can use to wash and dry their clothes.
