This is your complete Guide to all the Characters you can meet at Animal Kingdom! Animal Kingdom has some great character meet and greets and some special character meet and greets that are exclusive to Animal Kingdom.
Discovery Island:
Discovery Island is the Island that you will find the Tree of Life at. When you enter the park, you can head right at the tree to find all the characters in this location.
Mickey and Minnie:
Here in Animal Kingdom, you will find both Mickey and Minnie together, which is the only place in Disney World that you can meet them together.
They are also wearing a special safari outfit which is perfect for Animal Kingdom.
Time: Because Mickey and Minnie meet indoors this meet and greet is open ongoing throughout the day. This meet and greet is open from 8am-6:00pm.
Location: You can find Mickey and Minnie at Adventure Outpost in Discovery Island.
You will find this right across the exit of It’s Tough to be a Bug! This is usually the longest wait for a character in Animal Kingdom and the only one with an indoor meeting area.
Kevin:
Kevin is the famous bird from the movie UP! Kevin does not have a meet and greet area, instead you will find her roaming around.
Time: Kevin will be out roaming every 15 minutes from 9:30am-4:50pm.
Location: Roaming around Discovery Island. Which means she will walk around the entire time she is out.
Don’t worry though this giant bird is hard to miss! If she is out, you will see her.
Moana:
The newest meet and greet at Animal Kingdom is the popular Moana. This is the only place in all of Walt Disney World that you can meet Moana.
Not only is Moana very popular, but she is also only out a few times a day so if you want to see her make sure to prioritize this one.
Times: She will be out to meet at 9:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm, and 4:00pm. Make sure you are double checking the app to see if time changes.
Location: You will find Moana at the Character Landing in Discovery Island. Right before you enter Dinoland, USA you will see the entrance.
On the map you can see the winding trail that leads you down to the character landing.
Discovery Island River Lagoon:
While you will not be able to meet these characters make sure to keep an eye out on the lagoon for characters passing by in boats.
Some characters you may see include Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Launchpad McQuack, Pluto, Pocahontas, Meeko and Scrooge McDuck.
Time: Starts at 8:45 the first boat will take off and travel around the lagoon. Another boat will be out every hour until 3:45pm.
Location: Discovery Island River Lagoon is where you will find these boats. The boats can be seen from lots of different parts of the park.
DinoLand USA:
Travel back in time and visit some dinosaurs in DinoLand USA. This area had some amazing meet and greets before the parks closed due to the pandemic. Here you could meet Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Goofy, Scrooge and Launchpad. Chip and Dale dressed in dinosaur costumes would host a dance party as well. Since the parks have reopened, the meet and greets and dance party here have not fully come back. Since visiting the park over the last couple of years Daisy and Donald have come back for meet and greets. Chip and Dale are available for a meet and greet as well, but are no longer hosting their dance party.
Donald:
Join Donald at his prehistoric party and in his awesome DinoLand costume. Donald wears his Dino Host Costume for his Dino Bash!
Time: Donald will be out in every 20 minutes starting at 11:00am and coming out at the last time at 6:40pm.
Location: Donald can be found in DinoLand right across from TriceraTop Spin.
Daisy:
Daisy is up on a path kind of out of the way. You can miss her if you are not paying attention. Daisy is dressed to the nines at this meet and greet. She is a fashion designer here.
Times: Daisy will be out in every 20 minutes starting at 11:00am and coming out at the last time at 6:40pm.
Location: You are going to find Daisy along the Cretaceous Trail. If you walk toward the DINOSAUR ride you will find it.
Chip and Dale:
Chip and Dale are back but not hosting their dance party. You can meet them up past Daisy. They are dressed in their dinosaur costumes.
Time: Both Chip and Dale will be out to meet every 20 minutes starting at 10:00am and coming out to meet for the last time at 5:40pm.
Location: You aren’t going to be able to spot these two chipmunks unless you walk up the Cretaceous Trail.
If you keep walking passed Daisy, you should be able to see there meet and greet spot.
Character Dining:
If you don’t want to wait in lines to meet some of your favorite characters at Animal Kingdom, you could always get a reservation at Tusker House.
This of course is going to be an extra cost to you, but you can get a reservation here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
The dinner is hosted by Donald Duck and you can find his friends Mickey, Goofy, and Daisy with him.
Tips on Meeting Characters:
Meeting characters is so much fun while in Disney World. Here are some of our tips to make the most of your time and make sure you get to see everyone you want.
Tip 1: Bring an Autograph Book.
Before you head to Disney get an autograph book for you or each of your kids. Trust me, get one before you get too Disney, you are going to save a lot of money.
This is a fun way to collect memories. We have even seen people bring frames or books that these characters can sign.
Tip 2: Have your Camera Ready!
We love the Disney Photo Pass Photographers and with our Memory Maker we get lots of awesome pictures.
But if you aren’t paying extra for the Memory Maker add-on don’t forget you can take your own picture or even ask a cast member to help you if they are available.
Tip 3: Check your App.
While we listed all the characters, times, and locations that are current this could change at any time for any reason.
Florida is known for the crazy raining weather which can also affect many meet and greets.
Make sure you have downloaded the My Disney Experience app. You can which the toggle from wait time to characters to see where they are and the time you can see them incase anything has changed.
