Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid is Magic Kingdom’s dark ride through the story of The Little Mermaid. Enjoy the songs and scenes of The Little Mermaid through this fun ride in a Clamshell.

Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid is a slow-moving dark ride in a Clamshell through the story, songs and scenes of The Little Mermaid movie.

The ride is about 7 minutes long, taking you from the surface to under the sea!

Location:

Located in the back of Fantasyland of Disney’s Magic Kingdom. It is right in between Gaston’s Tavern and where you Meet Ariel at Her Grotto.

Lighting Lane:

Lightning Lane is available for this ride, and it can be purchased via the My Disney Experience App with Genie+. The line que is quiet long, but has some fun interactive screens to look at when walking through. The average wait time on busy days is around 45 minutes.

Handicapped Accessibility:

The ride is handicap accessible. Riders must be able to transfer to the ride vehicle. The DAS pass is available to use on this ride as well.

Wheelchairs and other assistance vehicles can be ridden to almost the ride start. The rider will have to walk on a moving platform, that can be slowed down or even stopped if needed to get on the ride.

Height And Age:

All ages can ride this ride. There is no height requirement.

Ride Review:

Dark Rides at Disney World are super iconic and take you on an adventure through beloved Disney movies. Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid is just that, a classic dark ride through a classic movie. The wait times are usually not as long on this ride, as say on Peter Pan’s Flight. It is very slow moving so everyone can enjoy it. Enjoy your Journey with the Little Mermaid.
