Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is the high thrill roller coaster located in Asia in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Take a train ride to the top of Mt. Everest but beware of the Yeti!

Themed after the tallest mountain in the world Expedition Everest is the tallest ride in Disney World (but only by inches with Tower of Terror in second place).

This is a very thrilling roller coaster ride through a snowcapped mountain. You start in a train ride to the top of Mt. Everest. When you reach the peak, things don’t go exactly as planned. The track ends and you have to go back down the mountain backwards. On the way down you come face to face with the mythical Yeti! Escape back to the bottom as fast as you can!

Location:

The ride is located in Asia in Animal Kingdom. Besides the Tree of Life, Mt. Everest is the next most famous focal point in Animal Kingdom.

Lighting Lane:

Yes, this ride does have Lightning Lane availability. This is one of the more popular rides at Animal Kingdom, but it usually does not have the same wait times as the rides in Pandora.

Handicapped Accessibility:

This ride is handicap accessible. Guests must transfer from wheelchairs into the ride car.

Height Requirement:

The height requirement is 44 inches. But this is a wild, dark at time, and can be scary ride. So, make sure your kids are comfortable with all that even if they are tall enough. This ride also goes forward as well as backward. I would say this is one of the wilder roller coasters in all of Disney World.
