Animal Encounters: Winged Encounters – The Kingdom Takes Flight is an exotic bird encounter that takes place right in front of the Tree of Life. Experience beautiful birds mostly parrots take flight around Discovery Island and the Tree of Life.

Winged Encounters:

This is an amazing show of color in this animal encounter. Winged Encounters features 6 species of South American Macaws: hyacinth, green-winged, blue and gold, scarlet, blue-throated and military.

Disney calls it “a pandemonium of parrots.”

The parrots take flight all over Discovery Island while the animal experts tell the crowd about the birds and answer questions.

How Often Does Winged Encounters Happen in Animal Kingdom:

There are typically 6 showings a day at Animal Kingdom. Make sure to check the Disney My Experience App for changes or cancellations of the show. The show is done weather permitting.

Also the show is up to the birds as well. If they don’t feel like flying they may not.

The show times generally are at 9:15am, 10:15am, 11:15am, 1:15pm, 2:15pm and 3:15pm.

Where can I Watch Winged Encounters?

You can watch this show right in front of the Tree of Life. As you walk down from the entrance Winged Encounters – The Kingdom Takes Flight will take place right in front of you.

The best place to watch the show is as close as you can get to the front by the fence. The birds will land on the log right next to the fence.

What Birds can I see in Animal Kingdom?

This show mostly features parrots. Sometimes another bird joins in. The Animal Kingdom also features another bird show in Asia the Feathered Friends in Flight show.

We love this show. It is super fun and interactive when you get to ask questions from the bird care experts. It is one of our favorite shows and we try to never miss it when at Animal Kingdom.
