T-Rex Cafe Disney Springs:

Disney Springs is an experience on its own. From shopping, entertainment and eating there is something for everyone here.

All the restaurants have great themes, fun entertainment, and amazing menus. One of our favorite restaurants is the T-Rex Cafe. Think Rainforest Cafe but with Dinosaurs!

 Reservation:

This is a reservation MUST! You can make a reservation two different ways. The first and probably the easiest way to make a reservation is on the Disney My Experience App. Search T-Rex Cafe or Restaurants filtered to Disney Springs. You can also call to make a reservation for your dining expedition, please call 407-939-3463.

T-Rex Cafe’s Cancellation Policy:

If you can’t make your reservation, make sure to call and cancel at least 2 hours prior to your reservation time. If you fail to do this, you can be changed a $10 fee per person.

This is a major and recent change to Disney’s Dining Cancellation Policy. Prior to this change you had to cancel your reservations 24 hours in advance in order to avoid the fee.

  • Cancellation Advice: If you miss the 2-hour window still try calling the Dining reservation number to talk to them. Disney may be able to still help you out with the cancellation and possibly avoid the fee depending on the reasoning.

The Atmosphere:

This is a HUGE restaurant. There are 4 major themed rooms that you may get sat in to enjoy your meal.

The bar seating area features the underwater area. There is a giant octopus and other sea creatures suspended from the ceiling.

Behind the bar and in the seating area are two large aquariums with a variety of tropical fish in them.

There is the Fern Forest and Sequioa Rooms which feature a lot of the animatronic dinosaurs. The Ice Age room features an ice cave along with a Wooly Mammoth and baby.

The Menu:

The menu is very similar to Rainforest Cafe. It is a variety of dishes from a variety of different cultures. There’s American, Tex-Mex, and Italian from appetizers, salads to pasta and steaks. Burgers and sandwiches are available as well.

Colosso Beef Nachos for Two.

The Colosso Nachos are made for two, but you could also enjoy it as an entree like Chad did.

I got the Prehistoric Pasta, which is essentially a Grilled Chicken Alfredo pasta dish.

The kid’s menu has a lot of options, but all our boys wanted the same thing. That is pretty typical of when we go out to eat. The boys always get the same thing. Do your kids do that?

The T-Rex Cafe has one of the best kids’ meals ever, according to our kids. They have Chicken Strips and Mozzarella Sticks!!! Yes, that is the entree! You also get a side choice with this meal.

Pricing:

The pricing is very similar to what you would expect at other Disney sit down restaurants. The appetizers range in price from mid-teens to up to $30+. Entrees range from the mid-$20s to $40+. Drink prices also vary because of souvenir glasses and things.

Review:

Overall, the T-rex Cafe has been a favorite of our family. The boys love seeing the dinosaurs, and the food portions are actually really large. There is something that the kids can enjoy as well. Overall, this restaurant is what we would call a Disney Applebee’s. It’s food you can expect at your local Applebee’s just surrounded by a cool theme. The restaurant can also be very loud, and crowded.
