Located right next to Hollywood and Vine is another sit-down restaurant in Hollywood Studios. 50’s Prime Time Cafe is a classic family dinner with comfort food for all.

the menu:

Lunch and Dinner share the same menu. There are starters like a cornbread skillet for the table to share or onion rings or a wedge salad.

The 50’s Prime Time Cafe is also famous for its Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshake.

We really enjoy dining here and we like to start the table off with the Cornbread Skillet. It comes served in a skillet along with honey butter.

The Entrees:

Classic Comfort food is some of our family’s favorite food to eat. That is why we enjoy this restaurant so much.

Jennie’s personal favorite is the Mom’s Old-Fashioned Pot Roast. It’s a traditional pot roast with all the fixin’s.

Chad’s favorite is the Sampling of Mom’s Favorite Recipes. It comes with a helping of Aunt Liz’s Golden Fried Chicken, Mom’s Old-Fashioned Pot Roast and Cousin Megan’s Traditional Meatloaf.

This is a good option to sample a variety of the menu along with mashed potatoes and green beans.

kids menu:

The Kids menu allows your kids to choose and entree and two sides. The entrees are Salmon, Grilled Chicken, Sloppy Joe Sandwich or Aunt Betty’s Chicken Strips.

The side options are green beans and carrots, Grandma’s Mac and Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, corn or a fruit salad. There are two dessert options as well that can be chosen as a side. There is a Seasonal Cupcake or the Stained Glass Dessert. The Stained Glass Dessert is whipped pineapple fluff served with strawberry, lime and orange Jell-O.

atmosphere:

Dining here is a really fun atmosphere. The dining room tables all have a small black and white tv playing classics to entertain you while you eat.

The “cousin’s” or cast members who serve you are hilarious, and make sure you follow the family rules like no cell phones at the table or no elbows on the table.

A TV Dinner:

As I said before, you get to watch tv during this meal. But you still must mind your manners, or you will have to talk to Uncle Fred.

clean plate club and hats:

If you eat all your vegetables and clean your plate, you will get hats for being in the Clean Plate Club. If you have an exceptionally well-mannered family member, who helps enforce the table rules you may even get a Manner’s Inspector hat!

the lounge:

Off to the left of the dining rooms is the 50’s Prime Time Lounge. Here you can enjoy some of Dad’s Dazzling Drinks. Enjoy some adult beverages here from Dad’s Liquor Cabinet, or get a Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshake to go.

Reservation:

You will need a reservation for this dinner, and it can fill up pretty fast. Make sure to schedule a reservation 60 days your Disney vacation.

Cancellation Policy:

If you can’t make your reservation, make sure to call and cancel at least 2 hours prior to your reservation time. If you fail to do this, you can be changed a $10 fee per person.

Cancellation Tip

If you miss the 2-hour window, still, try calling the Dining reservation number to talk to them. Disney may be able to still help you out with the cancellation and possibly avoid the fee depending on the reasoning.

50’s Prime Time Cafe Final Review:

We really enjoy dining here. We typically eat here on our trips. It does not have a long dining timeframe like a character meal would have, so it is very doable on a park day. The atmosphere is fun, and the cast members make it a really enjoyable dining experience.

One of the best things here is the food. With something everyone will love and enjoy, you and your family will be very happy with the meal here. Classic American Comfort food really can do no wrong.
