Chef Mickey’s is one of the most popular restaurants in Disney World. It is hard to get a reservation for because it is so popular.
This is a dining experience like no other in our opinion. It is probably our favorite character dining experience in all of Disney.
Where is Chef Mickey’s located?
Located in the beautiful Contemporary Resort, Chef Mickey’s basically on the main level of the resort.
Yes, it technically is upstairs from check-in, but it is on the same level as the merchandise store, quick service restaurant location, and the entrance to the monorail.
How to get to Chef Mickey’s from Magic Kingdom:
There are two ways to get to the Contemporary and Chef Mickey’s from Magic Kingdom. You can walk to the Contemporary from the park. Head left when leaving Magic Kingdom, and stay to the walkway on the left.
If you head in the direction of the buses you will see the walkway. There are also some signs posted. Walk over to the Contemporary from there.
You can also take the world famous Monorail! Hop on the resort monorail and ride over to the Contemporary. The exit is right on the same level as Chef Mickey’s!

Atmosphere:
The open dining room and buffet area is large. It is bright and contemporary. There are Disney artwork all over the walls and the decor is definitely in favor of Mickey.
Chef Mickey’s Menu:
The menu has been the same since Chef Mickey’s reopened. It just recently reverted back to a full buffet. We have not dined here yet since it has returned to being a buffet so some of our pictures are from when it was All-You-Care-To-Enjoy table service platters.
The food in the pictures is still accurate to what you would see on the buffet.
Please note: Menu Items are up to date as of the date of this post. The menu and specials and prices are subject to change.

You can enjoy a variety of juices, coffee, tea and soda. There is also some Magical Morning Cocktails to enjoy. These cocktails are not included in your price and will have an extra cost.

You will also find other special drinks for purchase as well. These are the non-alcoholic specialty beverages even the kids can drink and enjoy.

Breakfast starts with a shared basket of pastries and breads. The cinnamon rolls were a favorite of everyone!

Chef Mickey’s Dinner Menu:
The price for dinner is
- $62 per adult
- $39 per child.
The pricing for a buffet and character dinner is actually really good. For dinner we had a lot of options so anyone in the family should be able to find something.

The dinner buffet has a great variety of excellent options. The carving station usually has a New York Strip. There is a pork loin as well. The sides are also awesome. The Mac and Cheese was a family favorite.
To start with you have lots of bread and butter along with salads. Here are the things you will find:
- Tomato and Rosemary Focaccia
- Seasoned Salads
- Pasta Salads and Fruit Salads
- Grilled and Roasted Vegetables

Soup Options will change and can be seasonal but you will usually find 2 soup options in the buffet.
For your main dish and sides you will find:
- Biscuits
- Shrimp and Grits
- Tater Tots

- Plant-based Seasoned Dishes (we had impossible meatloaf and mashed potatoes as an option)

- Vegetable Stir Fry Noddles
- Vegetable Stir Fry Rice
- Orange Chicken
- Dumplings

- Breadsticks
- Meatballs
- Pasta Dishes

- Salmon
- Green Beans and other vegetables
- Carving station with the chefs pick.

The kids had some great options available as well.
- Corn Dog Nuggets
- Chicken Nuggets
- Broccoli
- Chicken drumsticks

Dinner Drinks:
Chef Mickey’s does not have it’s own specialty cocktail menu, but they do have some non-alcoholic specialty beverages. You can also get juice, coffee, tea or soda.

The beer, hard cider and hard seltzer menu is the same as it is at all the Disney restaurants.

The cocktail menu is the same cocktail menu at most Disney restaurants.

The Desserts:
The desserts here are excellent. The kids loved the Mickey Dome’s and they were almost as good as Boma’s.

You will find warm apple crispy along with lots of other treats that can change seasonally.

You can also find classic like chocolate chip cookies. These are great for the littles ones who don’t venture far with dessert and enjoy the simple things.

Character Meet and Greets:
There is nothing more exciting than meeting Disney Characters.
The character dining experiences are one of the best ways to interact with the characters. The character dining interactions are some of the more personal interactions you can have with Disney characters.
Hugging, talking and taking photos are all typically allowed.

Characters are here for both mealtimes. You get to meet Goofy, Pluto, Minnie and Mickey here.
This is unique because it is one of the few character dining experiences with characters at both meals.

Character Dining Pricing:
One thing about Disney is you will pay a premium for the experience. Character Dining are some of the most expensive dining options on Disney property. The food at these character dining experiences are usually a preset menu or buffet family-style dining.
Typically, people review the food as good, but not the best as other non-character dining menus. That goes back to what we said about paying the premium.
Always remember when you are making the Character Dining reservations you are also paying for the experience of meeting and interacting with Disney characters.
Chef Mickey’s Final Review:
We absolutely love Chef Mickey’s. It is definitely our favorite character dining experience at Disney World. We have enjoyed both breakfast and dinner here. We highly recommend either option. The character interactions are great. The food is really good for a character dining experience. We cannot share enough how much we enjoy Chef Mickey’s. You definitely need to go!
