The magic of Disney World is all over the place, and it is really special to celebrate a birthday there. These are our Tips for Celebrating a Birthday at Disney World.

Celebrating a birthday at Disney World is one of the best ways to celebrate anyone’s birthday.
Table of Contents
1. Get a Free Birthday Button
As soon as you arrive (or even at your Disney resort), stop by Guest Services and ask for a “Happy Birthday” button with the name of the birthday guest. Cast Members — and even other guests — will wish them a magical birthday all day long!

2. Note the Birthday on Your Reservations
When booking dining or hotel reservations, let Disney know you’re celebrating a birthday. Sometimes you’ll get a free cupcake, a sprinkling of pixie dust, or even a special birthday card signed by characters at table-service restaurants.

3. Book a Special Character Meal or Dining Experience
Celebrate with a character breakfast or dinner!
Favorites for birthday celebrations:
- 1900 Parke Fare
- Cinderella’s Royal Table (in the castle!)
- Be Our Guest (a regal setting with the Beast)
- Tusker House (with Safari-themed characters)

4. Order a Custom Birthday Cake
You can order a Mickey-shaped birthday cake when booking select dining reservations or by calling Disney’s cake hotline. They’ll bring it to your table during the meal!
5. Plan a Surprise or Upgrade
Consider adding a little magic:
- In-room celebrations from Disney Floral & Gifts.
- Minnie Van ride for a stylish birthday entrance.
- A behind-the-scenes tour for older kids or adults (like Keys to the Kingdom).
6. Wear Birthday-Themed Gear
From Etsy to the Emporium, there are tons of birthday ears, shirts, and buttons available. Wearing themed gear makes you stand out and adds to the fun!

7. Book a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or Pirate League Experience
Perfect for younger kids! Let them transform into a princess or pirate for their big day. (Reservations highly recommended.)
8. Capture the Magic with Memory Maker
Since it’s a special occasion, invest in Memory Maker for the trip. Disney PhotoPass photographers will snap pro-level pics all day — and you’ll want to remember this one.

9. Get a Special Treat
Birthday DOLE Whip? Yes, please. Or try something sweet and over-the-top like a cupcake from Sprinkles at Disney Springs or a milkshake from Beaches & Cream! Treat yourself on your birthday with something you will enjoy!
10. Don’t Overplan — Leave Space for Birthday Magic
Some of the best birthday memories happen when you’re not rushing. Slow down, enjoy the park, and let the spontaneous magic happen — birthday wishes from characters, extra stickers from Cast Members, or a surprise Lightning Lane (if offered!).

However you celebrate your birthday or the birthday of someone special to you, we hope you have a great time! Enjoy the day, and Happy Birthday!
